I'm guessing the podcast name, Uh-Oh College, caught your attention. Hi, my name is Gary Stocker. Uh-Oh College is for college students and their families, and we use it as a podcast to provide a balanced source of college-related information. We do it in a lighthearted and fun manner with serious information. And instead of the usual one-way hype colleges use to get students to enroll,

We challenge their messages to you in a way that will provide listeners like you with an enhanced and I think a better perspective. You'll learn what is good and what is bad, what is garbage about colleges and their processes. You'll also learn how to analyze the financial health and viability of both private and public colleges. Students and their parents are generally unaware

the financial health and viability challenges of many colleges. Some colleges will continue to close, but many others are cutting majors and degrees and programs and faculty. We'll step you through the process for comparing the financial health and viability of these colleges. We'll talk about college presidents and how really they're paid to look out for the college's best interests, not necessarily yours.

We'll share how the boards of trustees operate, and we'll make the case many times to the detriment of the college and its students. We will share how college counselors make that college decision process much harder than it needs to be. Colleges will tell you, want you a lot more than you want them. And we'll share how to leverage that to your benefit. You'll learn how to interpret enrollment trends.

graduation rates, and something we call popularity indicators to your advantage. We will show you something called the College Viability app and how you can use it to compare colleges you're considering. Uh-oh College will provide listeners with an entertaining, idea-challenging, and thoughtful discussion about colleges, the college selection process, the business of college, and much, much more.
